Dr. Amos Rutherford Azinu, founder of Legacy Crop Improvement Centre Limited, received recognition at the India-Africa Seed Summit 2025, highlighting his significant contributions to India – Africa Seed Summit 2025.

The award was presented during the summit held on September 11, 2025, at the Marigold Hotel in Hyderabad, organized by the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture.

The event, themed “Seeding Solutions for India and Africa – Connecting Continents for Sustainable Future,” brought together agricultural leaders, researchers, and policymakers to address critical challenges in food production and crop improvement.

Dr. Azinu’s Legacy Crop Improvement Centre has been at the forefront of advancing climate-resilient crop varieties and sustainable farming practices that benefit smallholder farmers. His work focuses on improving seed quality, enhancing crop yields, and promoting agricultural technologies that can withstand changing climate conditions.

The India-Africa Seed Summit serves as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration between the two regions, sharing best practices in seed technology, and building partnerships for agricultural development.

The recognition of Dr. Azinu underscores the importance of cross-continental cooperation in addressing global food security challenges.
The ornate golden plaque presented to Dr. Azinu features intricate floral designs and the summit’s logo, symbolizing the growth and flourishing of agricultural partnerships between India and Africa.

This honor reflects not only his individual achievements but also the growing recognition of African agricultural innovators on the global stage.

As both India and Africa face mounting pressure to feed growing populations while adapting to climate change, leaders like Dr. Azinu play a vital role in advancing sustainable solutions that can transform agricultural practices and improve livelihoods for millions of farmers across both continents.
