President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, together with the Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, paid their respects at the funeral of the late Elder Nana Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo (KAMA) in Suhyen-Koforidua.

The 74-year-old Elder Nana Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo (1950β2024) was a visionary entrepreneur, pharmacist, philanthropist, and traditional leader. As the founder of the KAMA Group of Companies, he revolutionized Ghanaβs pharmaceutical industry, ensuring access to quality healthcare products. Beyond business, he served as the Nkabomhene (Unity Chief) of the New Juaben Traditional Area, a mentor, and a strong advocate for education and youth empowerment. His contributions to national development left an indelible mark on Ghanaβs economic and social landscape.
President Mahama, in his tribute, described Nana Dr. Agyekum Addo as a distinguished son of Ghana whose entrepreneurial excellence and service to the nation were unparalleled. He highlighted his visionary leadership at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), where he championed policies that strengthened local businesses and attracted foreign investment. The President also commended his dedication to mentoring young entrepreneurs, emphasizing that his impact would be felt for generations.
The final farewell was a testament to the late Elderβs enduring legacy, as dignitaries and mourners gathered to celebrate a life of purpose, service, and lasting contributions to Ghanaβs development.
