The family of Ghanaian international football star, Christian Atsu Tswasam, who was reported trapped in the debris of the buildings which collapsed in Turkey following a devastating earthquake which hit the country, has expressed optimism that the football star will be found alive
The family says it held a vigil which brought together the Christian community, men of faith in and around Ada and Atsu’s ancestral home, Dorgobom, to put their supplications before God for a miracle.
Speaking with Eagle News yesterday at Dorgobom, the Head of the Family, Mr Ebenezer Narteh-bi Twasam said, aside from the vigil and Christian prayers, appropriate customary rites were also performed in line with custom and tradition to evoke the relevant powers to go to their son’s rescue.
“Atsu will be part of those who will be rescued; We don’t yield to misfortune we don’t succumb to disasters like this, it is our belief and that is what the tradition of this community has been. He is coming out alive. Our faith is indomitable”, he said.
The family head also spoke highly of Atsu and lauded him for his widespread humanitarian initiatives including the relationship of tap water to the Dorgobom community and its adjoining settlements.
“He has done a lot and has promised to do more for us and humanity. He will survive to come to continue his good works,” he said.
