Ghanaian reggae artiste and radio presenter Blakk Rasta has joined Media General, operators of TV3, 3FM, Akoma FM, Connect FM, Onua TV and Onua FM.
This was announced by the management of Media General on Monday, October 10.
The management welcomed him saying ” We’re happy to have you join us.”
Blakk Rasta is known for the song “Barack Obama” sung in honor of the 44th U.S President.
He was honored at a special dinner with President Obama on 11 July 2010.
Born September 2, 1974, Blakk Rasta is a veteran at the radio game in Ghana.
He previously worked with Happy Fm, where he won the best Reggae DJ in Ghana award.
Blakk Rasta was the host of Taxi Driver on the Multimedia Group Limited-owned Hitz FM.
He left Hitz in 2015 to later join the Nana Appiah Mensah revolution at Zylofon Fm in 2017.
However, that went sour when the businessman ran into financial problems. In December 2021, Blakk Rasta announced he was leaving Zylofon, bluntly stating that he had stayed as long as he had despite not being paid out of loyalty to Nana Appiah Mensah, but that it was now time to move on. He later joined Class Media Group’s Class FM for barely four months.
On the side, Blakk Rasta is also a musician, responsible for hits such as Barack Obama and Martha.
Blakk Rasta joins Media General closely on the heels of another recent acquisition, Felicia Osei.
