Talk of the Town/Nsempii is a new captivating radio program aired on Ekwanso Dwodwoo (Drive Time) on Okay FM 101.7 based in Accra.

The program seeks to bring its audience up to date with current happenings and to make them abreast of the daily occurrences in their environment, Ghana, and the world at large.

The objective is to capture socio-entertainment and human interest stories that will be delivered in a conversationally interesting manner but with reliable information.

There will be an intermittent dialogue between the hosts of the show. Talk of the Town, which goes with the hashtag #tottok, rests on the diversity of current events coverage to arouse audience participation.

It is categorized into two segments; “Talk of the Town” and “Song Breakdown”.

Segment:

❖ Talk of the Town – This segment is for the delivery of current intriguing events and will be interspersed with interviews and audience participation through phone-ins/vox pops.
❖ Song Breakdown – This segment is for reviewing music and breaking the lyrics down to the understanding of the listeners.

Four stories will be delivered per episode and one (1) song review per episode.

The show will be aired during the weekdays.

PRESENTERS: The show will have a main host and two sidekicks; a male named Adu Gyamfi Ameyaw and female co-hosts Lady Jay Jay and Akosua Pitripitri.

The host will create a unique on-air chemistry delivering the program in a professional manner but adding sensitivity and curiosity with a mix of friendly satirical dialogue and comments to evoke the audience’s responses.

The presentation of the show will be done using witty local language (Twi) that will fascinate the audience.

Abeiku Aggrey Santana, the head of the program revealed that the year 2023 is a year of “Quality” to make a big impact in the lives of people including listeners, fans, and followers.

“I like trends pieces because it gives us an opportunity to take a punt on where we think our industry is going“, he said.

The multiple award-winning media mogul proclaimed that radio must be radio.

“Everyone is talking about digital and its role in radio but we shouldn’t lose sight of what radio is, its essence, and what it can offer to both the listeners and advertisers”, he added.

Abeiku Santana also indicated that “radio programs must be creative, consistent, compelling, engaging, effective, immediate and a platform that can achieve things other media cannot get close to achieving”.
