Renowned broadcaster Ohemaa Woyeje has raised serious allegations against Angel 102.9 FM’s CEO, Vincent Opare, accusing him of intimidation, unfair treatment, and abuse of power at the media house.
According to Ohemaa Woyeje, Opare has deliberately sidelined her and her hardworking team, preventing them from joining the station’s new building without justification. She also alleges that he attempted to replace her scheduled interview slot by instructing another host to take over her show.
Additionally, Opare is accused of pressuring her to take money from gospel musician Diana Hamilton in exchange for an interview, a move that she resisted. She also claims he unjustly issued her a query for introducing Saddick Adams as the station’s morning show host, despite her following the right procedures.
Ohemaa Woyeje further alleges that Opare falsely informed Angel FM’s owner, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, that she had called to insult him, even though no such conversation ever took place. Furthermore, she accuses Opare and the station’s commercial director, Barbara, of orchestrating false claims that she used her platform to solicit funds for musician Okomfour Kwaadee. Despite a meeting proving these allegations were baseless, no apology was issued.
Financial concerns have also surfaced under Opare’s leadership. Ohemaa Woyeje claims that he instructed her to surrender any monetary gifts received from guests on her show for station expenses, including electricity payments. Additionally, he has allegedly halted payments to resource persons and barred them from compensating themselves through sponsorship mentions.
The situation escalated last Wednesday when Opare allegedly sent masked thugs to physically block Ohemaa Woyeje from entering the Angel FM premises, leading to a heated exchanges.
