According to a report by the Afrobarometer, 80% of Ghanaians rely on the radio for their daily or weekly serving of news.

Seventy-one percent of Ghanaians responding to the survey indicated they rely on television for news, 43% on social media, 42% on the internet, and only 6% on newspapers.

Respondents were asked, according to Afrobarometer, how often they get news from the above-mentioned sources.

Around the world, today, Monday, February 13, 2023, is World Radio Day.

The day is observed every year to raise awareness among the public and the media about the importance of radio and to encourage access to information through radio.

The theme for the 12th edition of World Radio Day is ‘Radio and Peace’ to remember the unique power of radio which touches lives and brings people together from every corner of the world.
