Renowned Ghanaian media personality, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, popularly known as Abeiku Santana, is set to take a bow from active radio broadcasting following his appointment as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
The celebrated broadcaster, who has been a household name in Ghana’s radio industry for over two decades, currently hosts the popular drive time show Ekwanso Dwoodwoo on Okay FM 107.1. His unique blend of humor, music, and insightful conversations has made the show one of the most listened-to on the airwaves.
Abeiku Santana began his illustrious radio journey with radio Z in Koforidua where he climbed the ranks to become assistant programs manager of the station before moving to Radio Mercury in Kumasi from 1991 till parting ways to joined Kennedy Agyapong’s Ash 101.1 FM in 2001 as Drive time Host till 2022 before joining Multimedia ‘s Adom 106.3 FM where he rose to prominence before making the move to Okay FM in 2010.
Over the years, he has earned a reputation as one of Ghana’s most influential DJs and on-air personalities, garnering numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the media landscape.
His transition from radio to public service comes following a presidential appointment by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, who has entrusted him with the vital role of boosting tourism development in the country. As Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana is expected to bring his rich experience in media, marketing, and tourism promotion to bear in driving the sector forward.
His appointment marks a new chapter in his career—one that combines his passion for promoting Ghanaian culture with a national call to duty.
