Popular radio and TV presenter Oheneni Adazoa, host of Sompa Nkommo on Sompa FM/TV, has expressed deep disappointment after throwing her weight behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during the 2024 elections.
Despite passionately endorsing Dr. Bawumia as the right man to lead Ghana, the NPP lost the elections — and for Oheneni, the real sting came after the ballots were counted.
“I don’t regret supporting Bawumia, but I feel used,” she confessed. According to her, top NPP figures — including Bawumia himself and Miracles Aboagye — went silent after the campaign dust settled. Not even a Christmas message came through, except from Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the party’s Vice Presidential candidate.
Disheartened by the lack of acknowledgment, Oheneni says she’s done with politics. “Never again,” she declared, adding that her energy will now be focused on her social affairs show and personal projects.
Her story adds to the growing number of media voices disillusioned after standing in the political spotlight.
