The New York Chapter Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Chairman Frank Antwi has lauded the performance of the member of Parliament for New Juaben South for his tremendous work done over the past two years representing his people in Parliament.
In an exclusive interview with Afeema fm’s Igwe Gyan, he says “he believes the predecessors of Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, i.e Hon. Yaw Barimah, Hon. Beatrice Boateng and Hon. Mark Assibey Yeboah had their capabilities and they all did their best in ensuring the growth of New Juaben South Constituency.
Comparing the immediate past member of Parliament, Hon. Mark Assibey Yeboah to Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, he said that, Mr. Assibey Yeboah is an economist and when appointed the Finance Committee Chairman in Parliament, Ghanaians saw his work output. On Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, Chairman Frank Antwi disclosed that, he is a marketer and lobbying for development is not difficult for him, thus, the tremendous growth the people are experiencing now.
Chairman Frank Antwi added that, Michael Okyere could have decided to spend his hard earned money on his family but rather, has built an ultra modern Party office for his Constituency in addition with a 19 seater bus he presented to the party few months ago. He sees this to be remarkable and has never happened in the Constituency or in the region before.
Again, speaking on job opportunities given to the youth in the Constituency, Chairman Frank Antwi said “it amazed him when he heard he recommended to him to help came back with good news”.
“This is what we want to see, no one should be left behind, government is working and that, individuals should also help”.
Mr Frank Antwi Kwaku (FAK), the NPP chairman for New York, USA later bestowed on him the name “Kofi Ayɛboafo”,
POLITICAL AMBITIONS
Afeema fm’s Igwe Gyan asked Chairman Frank Antwi on his Political ambitions, if he have plans to contest in the next parliamentary primaries. In his answer, he said, “I have an endless intention to serve the party in any position, holding a political office is not about personal ambitions but rather service to the people”.
“When the time is due and the family decides we come back to serve, we will. I am cooked, ready, capable and have the will anytime they want us to serve in any capacity, for now, I’m serving as the Chairman for NPP New York Chapter, which we have won the most vibrant Political Party in the United States”, he added.
DIGITIZATION
Speaking on Governments digitization drive led by the vice president Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Frank Antwi said that, digital development is the best thing that has happened to Ghana.
“That is the best thing that has happened to the country, anyone against our digitalization efforts fears transparency”.
“I will always defend the statement by Veep Bawumia on investing in Ghana card rather than building 100 inter-changes, the status quo must change, everything must be digital to boost efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, accountability”, he said.
NPP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
According to Chairman Frank Antwi, he believes the NPP delegates will elect a suitable and stronger candidate who can aid the breaking the 8.
“I believe anyone delegates elect will be a walk over the NDC candidate, Veep Bawumia is just a heartbeat away from the president, Alan Kyeremateng is also a great candidate, Kennedy Agyapong and all the other names are strong men who can lead the party to break the 8, but I know at the end of the day, delegates will elect a suitable candidate”, he said.
FAK FOUNDATION
Frank Antwi Kwaku also launched the FAK FOUNDATION which he says it intends to aid the health and fitness of Ghanaians, especially residents of Koforidua.
Giving more insight on what the Foundation seek to achieve, Frank Antwi Kwaku (FAK) explained that, the foundation will be giving health support i.e health education, health screening, symposiums etc and also establish a vibrant fitness club in Koforidua.
The office location of the FAK FOUNDATION will be in the SSNIT BUILDING.
