Disgruntled workers of a popular media house in Hohoe have laid down their tools over months of unpaid salaries and poor working conditions.

Rumours have it that workers of this popular station have boycotted work for a couple of weeks now due to unpaid salaries and poor working conditions. Despite all efforts to get the real details of the staff’s refusal to work, none of the workers is ready to speak on these issues.

Rumour also has it that it is not the first time presenters and workers of the station have been off air.

Our checks revealed some presenters before going off air, made indirect comments on air venting their frustration and calling upon management and stakeholders of the media house to act quickly to prevent any form of an unpleasant situation. A plea that has fallen on deaf ears.

A close source reveals that the radio station belongs to the Minister for Railway Development and Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency but is managed by his elder brother who is also overseeing most of the MP’s ailing projects in the region.

Many, per sources, are attributing the shutdown of the station to a protracted period of mismanagement and other internally and externally influenced problems.

It should be established that most of the presenters have won various media awards including the prestigious RTP AWARDS and FOKLEX AWARDS in a very short period of operations.

It is sad to see that all these rich talents could be forced to exit if things do not change in the shortest span of time.

Some listeners of the radio station have expressed worry over the level of inconsistencies in terms of smooth operation and have vowed to go on a demonstration if the situation is not remedied immediately to bring their favourite presenters back on their most cherished airwaves.
